Process of initiation in the Catholic Faith through prayer, study, discussion and celebration

The Rite of Christian Initiation

What is R.C.I.A.?

The Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) for adults and children over the age of 7 is a gradual process of initiation in the Catholic Faith through prayer, study, discussion and celebration.

Who is it for?

RCIA is for:

  • adults and children over the age of 7, who have not been baptized and wish
    to explore the Catholic Faith
  • adults who have been baptized in another Christian community who want to
learn more about the Catholic religion and possibly be received into the
    Faith.
  • baptized Catholics who have not received the sacraments of Eucharist and
Confirmation and who desire to enter fully into the community of the Catholic
    Church.
