Youth Ministry for 7 - 12 Grades

Priceless Retreat participantsWe believe that by their baptism, young people in Most Holy Redeemer parish are called to full membership in our church and to share their gifts and talents with other members, both now and as future leaders.
In light of this belief, we feel it is the mission of Most Holy Redeemer Youth Ministry to help the young people of our parish community, and other interested young people to:

• develop and maintain an alive and active relationship with God, • experience a sense of belonging to a caring faith community with it's gifts and responsibilities, • live their Catholic Christian beliefs in the world today, and • understand and appreciate their Catholic Faith
Youth Ministry does not end when a young person receives the Sacrament of Confirmation. In fact, religiious education is a life long process. We invite and encourage young people, grades 9 through 12, to join with their peers in this continuing journey. Youth Ministry helps to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young adult. Youth Ministry also seeks to draw young people to responsible participation the the faith community.
Youth Ministry is our program for youth grades 9 through 12 and is called SUNDAY NIGHT LIVE (SNL). Our Youth Group explores their Catholic faith in new, fun-filled ways. All programming is developed using the USCCB's document on Youth Ministry, "RENEWING THE VISION". We host social activities, game nights, lock-ins, drama and special events, such as conferences and rallies. We learn there is more to being a disciple than just attending Mass. This is accomplished through organized service opportunities. And we have catechetical nights, where we learn about Church, our faith, and how we fit into the scheme of things.
